Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where is Haro Hive located?
We’re proudly based in Sealy, Texas—where open skies, wildflowers, and heritage farming traditions come together to support healthy, happy bees.
2. Is your honey raw and unfiltered?
Yes. All of our honey is raw, unfiltered, and never pasteurized to ensure it retains the natural enzymes, pollens, and nutrients just as the bees made it.
3. Do you use any additives or preservatives?
Nope. Nothing added, nothing taken away. Our products contain only what’s listed on the label—pure, honest ingredients.
4. What does “lavender-infused” mean?
It means we gently steep organic lavender into our raw honey for a naturally aromatic blend. We never use flavorings or extracts.
5. Why can’t I see the bees or hives on some labels?
Texas state law restricts the use of bee or hive imagery on labels unless the product is pure honey. We honor these regulations with clear and compliant designs.
6. What is the shelf life of your honey?
Properly stored honey can last indefinitely! We put a best by date with a two year shelf life just to be safe. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place. Crystallization is natural—just warm gently to return it to liquid form.
7. What are your bees fed?
Our bees forage freely on local wildflowers and native plants. We don’t feed them sugar syrups unless it's absolutely necessary to ensure their survival in winter.
8. Are your products made in a certified facility?
Our infused honey and balms are created under Texas Cottage Food laws in a home kitchen. We’re proud to follow every rule to deliver safe, quality goods.
9. Do you offer wholesale or bulk orders?
Not yet—but as we grow, we’re working toward supplying local shops, farmers markets, and co-ops. Let us know if you're interested!
10. How can I support Haro Hive?
The best way is by purchasing from us and sharing our story!
11. Do you ship?
At this time, due to Texas Cottage Food laws, we cannot ship anywhere, and it is either local delivery or pickup at the moment. We are currently working towards getting our Food Manufacturer License in order to ship in the future!
12. What makes Haro Hive different?
We blend old-world craftsmanship, sustainable beekeeping, and honest transparency to create goods that are as meaningful as they are delicious.
Golden Harvest – Raw Wildflower Honey
Is this honey really raw?
Yes. We never heat or filter our Golden Harvest honey, preserving its natural enzymes, pollens, and flavor straight from the comb.
Why does the color vary between jars?
Color changes with the seasons, depending on which wildflowers the bees visit. It’s one of the beautiful truths of truly raw honey.
Can I use it in tea or baking?
Absolutely. Just keep in mind that heating will reduce some of the raw benefits—but it still tastes amazing.
Mesquite Gold – Raw Mesquite Honey
What makes mesquite honey different?
Mesquite blooms lend this honey a deeper, richer flavor with subtle smoky notes. It’s a true taste of the Texas landscape.
Is it limited in quantity?
Yes. Mesquite only blooms for a short season, and our harvests are small and special.
What pairs best with Mesquite Gold?
Try it with aged cheeses, cornbread, or drizzled on grilled meats for something unforgettable.
Comb & Crystal – Honeycomb in Raw Honey
Can I eat the honeycomb?
Yes! The wax comb is entirely edible and packed with raw honey. Some people chew it like gum, others spread it on toast.
Will the jar crystallize?
It might, since it’s raw—but that just means it’s the real deal. Warm it gently in a water bath to soften.
How should I store it?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place. No refrigeration needed.
Lavender Light – Lavender-Infused Honey
What’s in it?
Raw wildflower honey infused with organic culinary lavender. That’s it.
Is it overpowering?
Not at all. It’s lightly floral—balanced and calming.
How should I use it?
Perfect for tea, toast, or winding down with a drizzle before bed.
Spiced Sting – Chili & Cinnamon Infused Honey
Is this spicy?
Yes, but pleasantly so. You’ll get warmth from the cinnamon and a kick from dried chiles—never overpowering.
What’s the best way to use it?
On fried chicken, roasted vegetables, or even in cocktails. It’s our boldest blend.
Will the flavor mellow over time?
Not significantly. It holds its kick as long as it's stored properly.
Citrus Sol – Orange Peel & Lemon Zest Honey
Is it made with real citrus?
Yes—organic orange peel and lemon zest steeped in raw honey.
Does it contain essential oils or extracts?
Nope. Just real fruit and pure honey.
What’s it good with?
Great with yogurt, scones, or a glaze for baked fish.
Forge Tapers – Beeswax Candles (Pair of 10”)
Are these scented?
No added fragrance—just the subtle, natural scent of pure beeswax.
Do they drip?
If kept upright and away from drafts, they burn clean and drip-free.
What’s the burn time?
Each taper burns for roughly 12 hours.
Craftsman’s Balm – Beeswax & Neatsfoot Oil
What is it used for?
A conditioning balm for leather goods—boots, belts, sheaths, and bags.
Is it safe for all leather?
It’s ideal for rugged, vegetable-tanned leathers. Always test a small patch if unsure.
What does it smell like?
Natural and earthy. No added scent, just beeswax and neatsfoot oil.
Wildman Wax – Beard & Mustache Balm (Woodsy Scent)

A subtle blend of cedarwood and balsam. Masculine and earthy without being overbearing.
